FILM LESSON - BUS STOP

.

.

Directed by Joshua Logan, based on a play by William Inge, this was the first movie Marilyn Monroe starred after quitting her Fox contract. The difference is clear, not anymore the dumb blonde girl, MM shine in the role of Cherie, a not-so-innocent singer that become the apple of a stubborn cowboy's eye. Catchy of attention are the close-ups (and extreme close-ups) Logan uses close to the end of the movie to convey the characters' innocence and struggle through the emotions of uncertainty, shame and love and attachment. I found it marvelous. It won't maybe make much sense unless you watch the whole movie, but here's a piece for you... Enjoy!
