Robert Mitchum made a superb Philip Marlowe in director Dick Richards' stylish and entertaining 1975 mystery "Farewell, My Lovely", adapted from the Raymond Chandler novel and co-starring Charlotte Rampling, John Ireland, Sylvia Miles, Jack O'Halloran, Anthony Zerbe, Harry Dean Stanton, Joe Spinell, Sylvester Stallone and Kate Murtagh.
